This multiple width interface is known as SPI Multi-I/O or MIO. Additionally, the FL-S family adds support for Double Data Rate (DDR) read commands for SIO, DIO, and QIO, enhancing address and read data transfer speed.

    An important feature of the Eclipse architecture is the Page Programming Buffer, which allows for faster programming and erase operations. With the FL-S devices operating at higher clock rates supported by QIO or DDR-QIO commands, the instruction read transfer rate can match or surpass traditional parallel interface, asynchronous, NOR flash memories. This not only results in improved performance but also reduces the number of required signals.

    The S25FL128S and S25FL256S products provide high densities and fast performance suitable for various embedded applications. They are particularly effective for code shadowing, Execute-In-Place (XIP) functionality, and data storage.
