The IFX91041 series is a monolithic integrated circuit that provides all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching voltage regulator. It is capable of driving up to 1.8A load current with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are well-suited for use in industrial applications, offering protection functions such as current limitation and overtemperature shutdown. The series includes versions with a fixed 5.0V and 3.3V output voltage, as well as an adjustable device with a 0.60V reference feedback voltage. The switching frequency of 370kHz allows for the use of small and inexpensive passive components. The IFX91041 also features an enable function that reduces the shut-down current consumption to less than 2uA. The voltage mode regulation scheme of this device provides a stable regulation loop maintained by small external compensation components. The feedforward control path offers excellent line transient rejection, and the integrated soft-start feature limits the current peak and voltage overshot at start-up.
