Description

The L7815CD2T-TR is a linear voltage regulator from the L7800 series. It is available in several fixed output voltages and different package options such as TO-220, TO-220FP, TO-3, and D2PAK. This regulator can provide local on-card regulation, which solves the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. It employs internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe area protection, making it almost indestructible. With appropriate heat sinking, it can deliver over 1A output current. Though primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, these regulators can be employed with external components to obtain adjustable voltage and currents.
