The HEF4557BP,652 is a static clocked serial shift register that can be programmed to have a length between 1 and 64 bits. The length of the shift register is determined by the sum of the subscripts of the enabled length control inputs (L1, L2, L4, L8, L16, and L32) plus one. The HEF4557BP,652 allows for the selection of serial data from either the DA or DB data inputs using the A/B select input, making it useful for recirculation purposes.
