The DS64BR401SQE is a signal buffer, repeater, and splitter designed for electronic components. It is part of a family of high-performance 14-bit quad-channel A-D converters with a maximum sample rate of 125 MSPS. The device features serial LVDS data outputs, resulting in a compact 64-pin QFN package, allowing for high system integration density.
The DS64BR401SQE includes a 3.5dB coarse gain option that can improve SFDR performance with minimal degradation in SNR. Fine gain options are also available, programmable in 1dB steps up to 6dB. The output interface is a 2-wire system, where each ADC data is serialized and output over two LVDS pairs. This reduces the serial data rate and makes receiver design easier.
The device also includes a traditional 1-wire interface for lower sampling frequencies. An internal PLL multiplies the incoming ADC sampling clock to derive the bit clock. The bit clock is used to serialize the 14-bit data from each channel. Along with the serial data streams, the frame and bit clocks are transmitted as LVDS outputs.
The DS64BR401SQE features programmable LVDS currents, current doubling modes, and internal termination options in its LVDS output buffers. These features can improve signal integrity and ease capture by the receiver. The ADC channel outputs can be transmitted in either MSB or LSB first, and in 2s complement or straight binary.
