Description
The SN65LVDS84AQDGG is a differential driver and receiver used for bidirectional data communication over long cables that take on the characteristics of transmission lines. This component is designed for high-speed multipoint data transmission over long cables and it operates with pulse durations as low as 30 ns. It has a low supply current of 5 mA max and meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI Standard RS-485 and ISO 8482:1987(E). The 3-state outputs are ideal for party-line buses and it has a common-mode voltage range of –7 V to 12 V. The Thermal Shutdown Protection ensures that the driver is protected from bus contention. The SN65LVDS84AQDGG has positive and negative output current limiting capabilities and it is pin compatible with the SN75ALS180.
