Description
The TS68230FN8 is a parallel interface/timer (PI/T) designed for TS68000 systems. It provides versatile double buffered parallel interfaces and a system oriented timer. The parallel interfaces can operate in unidirectional or bidirectional modes, with options for 8 or 16 bits width. In the unidirectional modes, the data direction register determines the input or output of each port pin. In the bidirectional modes, the direction is determined dynamically by the state of four handshake pins. These programmable handshake pins allow flexible interface connections to peripherals or computer systems of varying speeds.
