The SP22BD is a rugged and high ESD electronic component model, designed with a complete dual RS-232 port integrated on a single integrated circuit. This device provides designers with a dual-port solution that fully meets the EIA/TIA-232 and ITU-T V.28/V.24 communication protocols. It is suitable for applications such as personal desktop computers and workstations. The SP22BD offers high transmission rates, low power consumption, and an internal charge-pump power supply that requires only two capacitors. It comes in a space-saving 38-pin TSSOP package and is compatible with the EU directive on electromagnetic compatibility. This model is ideal for operation in electrically harsh environments or where RS-232 cables are frequently being plugged and unplugged. It is also immune to high RF field strengths without the need for special shielding precautions.
