  • Description

    The N74F524D is an 8-bit bidirectional register with parallel input and output, as well as serial input and output progressing from the most significant bit (MSB) to the least significant bit (LSB). The data inputs, both serial and parallel, are loaded by the rising edge of the clock. Two control lines (S0, S1) are used to control the shift, load, hold, and read out functions. The device also includes an 8-bit comparator to examine the data stored in the registers and on the data bus. There are three true-High, open collector outputs that represent 'register equal to bus,' 'register greater than bus,' and 'register less than bus.' These outputs can be disabled using the Status Enable (SE) feature. The N74F524D also includes a mode control for Two's Complement and magnitude compare, as well as linking inputs for expansion to longer words.
