Description
The RP150K008B-TR is a thermally protected varistor developed by Littelfuse for integrated circuit protection. It consists of radial leaded Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) with an integrated thermally activated element. This element is designed to open in the event of overheating caused by abnormal overvoltage or limited current conditions as outlined in UL1449. The varistor's integrated thermal element, combined with proper enclosure design, enables compliance to UL1449 for both cord connected and permanently connected applications. The RP150K008B-TR offers quick thermal response and lower inductance compared to most discrete solutions, resulting in improved clamping performance to fast overvoltage transients. It also has a third lead for indicating disconnection from the circuit and is wave solderable to simplify end product assembly.
