Description
The UC3842BVDG is a high-performance current mode controller, specifically designed for off-line and dc-to-dc converter applications. It offers a cost-effective solution with minimal external components. This integrated circuit features a trimmed oscillator for precise duty cycle control, a temperature-compensated reference, high-gain error amplifier, current sensing comparator, and a high current totem pole output, ideal for driving a power MOSFET. The UC3842BVDG also includes protective features such as input and reference undervoltage lockouts, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, programmable output deadtime, and a latch for single pulse metering. It is available in an 8-pin dual-in-line and surface mount (SO-8) plastic package, as well as a 14-pin plastic surface mount (SO-14) package with separate power and ground pins for the totem pole output stage. The UC3842BVDG has UVLO thresholds of 16V and 10V, making it suitable for off-line converters, while the UC3843BVDG is tailored for lower voltage applications with UVLO thresholds of 8.5V and 7.6V.
