Description
The Littelfuse TMOV® and iTMOV® thermally protected varistors are radial leaded MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) with an integrated thermally activated element. They are designed to open in the event of overheating due to abnormal overvoltage or limited current conditions. This design helps facilitate compliance to UL1449 for TVSS module applications, both for cord-connected and permanently connected devices.
The TMOV® and iTMOV® varistors offer quick thermal response and improved clamping performance to fast overvoltage transients. The iTMOV® varistor includes a third lead for indicating that the MOV has been disconnected from the circuit, allowing for easy connection to monitoring circuitry. Both varistors are wave solderable, simplifying end product assembly.
