Description
The HCPL0601V is an optocoupler from the HCPL06XX series. It consists of an AlGaAS LED that is optically coupled to a high-speed integrated photo-detector logic gate. The device is housed in a compact small-outline package. The output of the HCPL0601V features an open collector, allowing for wired OR outputs. The HCPL0600 and HCPL0601 models have bipolar transistors on a bipolar process, while the HCPL0611, HCPL0630, and HCPL0631 models have bipolar transistors on a CMOS process for reduced power consumption. The device is designed to guarantee coupled parameters over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It requires a maximum input signal of 5 mA to provide a minimum output sink current of 13 mA with a fan out of 8. Additionally, it features an internal noise shield for superior common mode rejection.

The device has a logic gate output and strobable output for single channel devices. It also has a wired OR-open collector and is U.L. recognized (File # E90700), with VDE approval pending.
Application Scenarios
The HCPL0601V is commonly used for ground loop elimination, in LSTTL to TTL, LSTTL, or 5-volt CMOS applications, as well as in line receiver and data transmission scenarios. It can also be used for data multiplexing.
