Description
The ST68230CFN8 is a universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter (UART) with a dual foot print interface. It is an enhanced UART with data rates up to 1.5Mbps and software compatible to ST16C450. The onboard status registers provide error indications and operational status, as well as modem interface control. System interrupts can be customized to meet user requirements. Additionally, it has an internal loop-back capability for onboard diagnostics. The ST68230CFN8 also offers an additional 68 mode for easy integration with Motorola and other popular microprocessors. This model combines the package interface modes of the ST16C454 and ST68C454 series on a single integrated chip.
