Description

Electronic Component Model: PM3388-FI is a monolithic intelligent Gigabit Ethernet Switch Port Controller. It integrates an IEEE 802.3z-compatible Gigabit MAC and can be used alone or in combination with other devices to build 10/100 or Gigabit switches. With support for the Gigabit EXACT™ Bus Protocol and PM3390 EXACT Bus Switch Matrix, it allows non-blocking expansion up to 16 Gigabit ports and high-density Gigabit switches. This model also has layer 2 line rate address lookup capability, store-and-forward switching, and supports up to 8,000 MAC addresses and 1022 multicast groups. It is compatible with common serial devices and supports IEEE 802.1D bridging and spanning tree algorithm. Additionally, it features an embedded SmartPath™ Processor and two 32-bit memory interfaces for flexible combinations of SSRAM and EPROM, allowing cost optimization of different applications. The model also supports programmable packet pattern matchers for identification of various protocols or packet types.
