Description
The 78T05A is a linear voltage regulator that belongs to the family of fixed voltage regulators. It is a monolithic integrated circuit capable of driving loads in excess of 3.0 A. The regulator has internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe-area compensation. There are different device types available with improved specifications, such as a 2% output voltage tolerance for AC-suffix 5.0 V, 12 V, and 15 V devices. Although primarily designed as a fixed voltage regulator, it can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents. Additionally, it can be combined with a series-pass transistor to supply up to 15 A at the nominal output voltage.
