Description
The ISL98602IRAAZ is a high-power, integrated LCD supply IC designed for large panel LCD displays. It includes a high-power boost converter for AVDD generation, VON and VOFF charge pump drivers, one synchronous buck regulator, and one synchronous buck controller for two logic voltages. The IC also features VON slicing circuitry and a power good function.
The AVDD boost converter operates at 1.3MHz with a 5.5A boost FET. Feedback is taken from the far side of the delay FET to improve regulation. The IC also includes an OVP circuit to protect output side components.
The logic synchronous buck converter has two 2.3A FETs operating at 1.3MHz internal clock. The output voltage can be set internally or with a feedback resistor. The buck also has integrated soft-start circuitry.
The second logic voltage is generated from a synchronous buck converter with MOSFET controllers. The buck includes integrated overcurrent protection.
The VON and VOFF charge pumps use the full switching frequency and integrate a driver for high current capability. The VON signal is further processed through an integrated VON slice circuit to reduce flicker.
The ISL98602 offers alternative fixed voltages for the boost, Buck1, Buck2, VON charge pump, and VOFF charge pump.
