Description
The TOP244R-TL is an AC-DC controller and regulator model that uses the same topology as TOPSwitch. This topology integrates the high voltage power MOSFET, PWM control, fault protection, and other control circuitry on a single CMOS chip, thereby reducing the system cost while improving design flexibility, performance, and energy efficiency. The TOP244R-TL also has many features that reduce the cost of external components, like extensive programmable accurate current limit, fully integrated soft-start for minimum stress/overshoot, wider duty cycle for more power, and smaller input capacitor, among others. It has a frequency jittering feature that reduces EMI and EMI filtering costs and half frequency option in Y/R/F packages for video applications. Also, it can regulate to zero load without dummy loading, and it has a large thermal hysteresis that prevents PC board overheating.
