MC34017A-1 is a Telecommunication Interface IC used as a Telephone Tone Ringer Bipolar Linear/I2L. It is a complete telephone bell replacement circuit that requires minimal external components. The chip features an on-chip diode bridge and transient protection, direct drive for piezoelectric transducers, and a push-pull output stage for greater output power capability. It offers base frequency options with 34017A-1 at 1.0 kHz, 34017A-2 at 2.0 kHz, and 34017A-3 at 500 Hz. It has an input impedance signature that meets the Bell and EIA standards.
