640599-7 is a rectangular connector which falls under the category of Free Hanging and Panel Mount connectors. The connector is stackable and preloaded with IDC contacts and is available in both closed end and feed-thru style. The molded ribs on the housing do not allow reverse mating, making it easier to handle and maintain. Moreover, the contacts are lubricated for fretting corrosion protection.
