Description
The MC100EP16VADTG is a high-performance differential receiver/driver, also known as EP16VA. The device has a high gain output and is functionally similar to the EP16 and LVEP16 models. The QHG and QHG outputs have a DC gain several times larger than an EP16. The VBB pin is a unique feature that generates an internally generated voltage supply only available in this device. The unused differential input is connected to VBB as a switching reference voltage for single-ended input conditions. VBB may also rebias AC coupled inputs. When used, VBB and VCC require decoupling with a 0.01 F capacitor, and the current sourcing or sinking must be limited to 0.5 mA. Under open input conditions that are pulled to VEE, the internal input clamps will force the QHG output to LOW. Special considerations are required for differential inputs under No Signal conditions to prevent instability. This device contains temperature compensation in the 100 series.
