Description
The AD637JRZ-R7 is a high accuracy rms-to-dc converter used to compute the true rms value of any complex waveform. It offers unprecedented performance in terms of accuracy, bandwidth, and dynamic range. The converter can compute the true root mean square, mean square, or absolute value of any complex AC (or AC plus DC) input waveform and provide an equivalent DC output voltage. This converter is particularly useful as the true rms value of a waveform directly relates to the power of the signal, unlike an average rectified signal.

- High accuracy with 0.02% maximum nonlinearity at 0 V to 2 V rms input
- Additional error of 0.1% to crest factor of 3
- Wide bandwidth with 8 MHz at 2 V rms input and 600 kHz at 100 mV rms
- Computes true rms, square, mean square, absolute value, and provides dB output (60 dB range)
- Chip select/power-down feature allows for analog three-state operation
