Description
The M08886G-13 is a member of the laser driver family, specifically the Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) products. It is an off-line SMPS that requires minimal external components to operate. The M08886G-13 utilizes a high voltage power SenseFET and current mode PWM controller IC. The PWM controller features an integrated fixed oscillator, under voltage lock out, leading edge blanking, optimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver, thermal shut down protection, over voltage protection, temperature compensated precision current sources for loop compensation, and fault protection circuit. Compared to discrete MOSFET and controller or RCC switching converter solutions, the M08886G-13 can reduce the total component count, design size, weight, and increase efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. The basic platform of the M08886G-13 is well suited for cost-effective design in either a flyback converter or a forward converter.
