The LT1084CP-5 is a linear voltage regulator from the LT1083 series that can provide an output current of up to 5A. It is designed to be more efficient than other comparable devices in the market. The circuitry is optimized to work even with input/output differentials as low as 1V, and the dropout voltage is specified according to load current. Internally, there are current limit trimmings that reduce stress on the regulator and power source circuitry in case of overload conditions. The output voltage is adjustable with an accuracy of just 1% due to on-chip trimming.

The regulator is a three-terminal device that can output 3.3V, 3.6V, 5V, and 12V. It offers an adjustable version. Furthermore, the device guarantees dropout voltages at multiple current levels. It has a line regulation of 0.015% and load regulation of 0.1%. A 100% thermal limit functional test is run on all regulators before delivery.
