The VHC573 is an advanced high-speed CMOS eight-way latch with 3-state output, manufactured using a silicon gate CMOS process. It achieves high speed operation similar to the equivalent bipolar Schottky TTL while maintaining low CMOS power consumption. This 8-bit D-type latch is controlled by the latch enable input (LE) and the output enable input (OE#). When the OE# input is high, the eight outputs are in a high impedance state. Input protection circuitry ensures that 0V to 7V is applied to the input pins regardless of supply voltage. This device can be used as an interface between 5V systems and 3V systems and between two power systems, such as battery backup. This circuit prevents damage to the device due to mismatched supply and input voltages.
