Description
The MT8952BP1 is an HDLC Protocol Controller designed to frame and format data packets according to X.25 (Level 2) Recommendations from the CCITT.
Specifications and features
- Formats data as per X.25 (CCITT) level-2 standards
- Supports go-ahead sequence generation and detection
- Recognizes single byte addresses
- Provides microprocessor port and directly accessible registers for flexible operation and control
- Includes a 19 byte FIFO in both send and receive paths
- Supports handshake signals for multiplexing data links
- Offers high speed serially clocked output at 2.5 Mbps
- Provides ST-BUS compatibility with programmable channel selection for data and separate timeslot for control information
- Includes an independent watchdog timer
- Offers the facility to disable protocol functions
- Utilizes low power ISO-CMOS technologyApplication Scenarios
- Ideal for data link controllers and protocol generators
- Suitable for digital sets, PBXs, and private packet networks
- Can be used as a D-channel controller for ISDN basic access
- Can function as a C-channel controller to Digital Network Interface Circuits (typically MT8972)
- Supports interprocessor communication -
