This is a glass passivated high commutation triac model called BTA225-800B,127 which is enclosed in a plastic envelope. It is designed specifically for use in circuits where high static and dynamic dV/dt and high dI/dt loads may occur. This device can commutate the full rated rms current at the maximum rated junction temperature without the need for a snubber.
