  • Description

    The K3012P is a phototransistor optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared-emitting diode. It is housed in a 6-lead plastic dual inline package, with a coplanar technique used to mount the elements on one leadframe. This design ensures a fixed distance between the input and output, meeting the highest safety requirements.

    Application Scenarios

    The K3012P is suitable for circuits requiring safe protective separation against electrical shock. It is designed for safety class II (reinforced isolation) and can be used for appl. class I – IV at mains voltage ≤ 300 V or appl. class I – III at mains voltage ≤ 600 V according to VDE 0884, table 2. It is commonly used in monitors, air conditioners, line switches, solid state relays, and microwaves.
