  • Description

    The 74HC4060A is a high-performance silicon-gate CMOS binary ripple counter with an oscillator. It consists of 14 master-slave flip-flops and an oscillator. The frequency of the oscillator is controlled by either a crystal or an RC circuit connected externally. The output of each flip-flop feeds the next, and the frequency at each output is half of that of the preceding one. The counter advances on the negative-going edge of the Osc In signal. The active-high Reset signal is asynchronous and disables the oscillator to allow low power consumption during stand-by operation. The decoded output signals may need to be gated with Osc Out 2 of the HC4060A to account for internal ripple delays.
