Description

The ADM1022ARQ-REEL is a low cost temperature monitor and fan controller for microprocessor-based systems. It is designed to measure the temperature of one or two remote sensor diodes, allowing for monitoring of processor temperature in single or dual-processor systems. The measured values can be read out via a serial System Management Bus, and limit comparisons can be programmed over the same serial bus. The ADM1022ARQ-REEL also features a DAC for fan speed control and has automatic hardware temperature trip points. In case of temperature exceeding these trip points, the fan will be driven to full speed. Additionally, the chip includes two supply voltage monitors for brownout detection. With a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, low supply current, and SMBus interface, the ADM1022ARQ-REEL is suitable for a wide range of applications. These applications include hardware monitoring and protection in personal computers, electronic test equipment, and office electronics.
