Description
The MPC8536BVTAVLA is a microprocessor designed for a variety of controller applications, particularly in communications and networking systems. It integrates a single-issue, 32-bit MPC8xx core implementing the PowerPC architecture. The core features a branch prediction with conditional prefetch, without conditional execution. It also includes embedded caches for both data and instruction, with various sizes and associativity. The MPC8536BVTAVLA operates at up to 80 MHz and has a memory controller with eight banks and support for various memory interfaces. It also includes general-purpose timers, a system integration unit, baud-rate generators, serial communications controllers, serial management channels, SPI and I2C ports, a time-slot assigner, parallel interface port, PCMCIA interface, low power support, and a debug interface.
