Description
The L78S00 series of three-terminal positive regulators is a category of linear voltage regulators that comes in TO-220 and TO-3 packages, designed for various applications. These regulators function by providing local on-card regulation which eliminates the problem of distribution associated with single point regulation.
The regulators also feature internal current limiting, safe area protection, and thermal shut-down, making them almost indestructible, provided adequate heat sinking is provided. They can deliver more than 2A output current.
The L78S10CV model is one of the fixed output voltage regulators in the series. The output voltage for this model is 10V.
