Description
The CAT5259YI50 is a digital potentiometer that is integrated with control logic and has 16 bytes of NVRAM memory. This component consists of four linear taper digital potentiometers, with 256 resistor taps per potentiometer. The end to end resistance options are 50 k or 100 k. It can be controlled and accessed through an I2C interface. The wiper resistance is low, typically 100 ohms. It also has nonvolatile memory storage for up to four wiper settings for each potentiometer, providing automatic recall of the saved wiper settings at power up. It operates within a voltage range of 2.5 to 6.0 V and has a standby current of less than 1 A. The nonvolatile memory allows for 1,000,000 write cycles and has a data retention of 100 years. This component comes in 24-lead SOIC and 24-lead TSSOP packages and is suitable for industrial temperature range use. It is also Pb-Free, halogen-free/BFR-free, and RoHS compliant.
