Description
The 74LS258 is a quad 2-input multiplexer with 3-state outputs. It is part of the signal switches / encoders & decoders / multiplexers product category. This component allows for the selection of four bits of data from two sources through a common data select input. The selected data is presented in true (non-inverted) form through the four outputs. These outputs can be switched to a high impedance state by applying a high signal to the common output enable input, enabling direct interface with bus oriented systems. The 74LS258 is fabricated using the Schottky barrier diode process, ensuring high speed performance. It is also fully compatible with all Motorola TTL families.
