The SN65LVDS125ADBTR is a signal switch, encoder and decoder multiplexer electronic component. It is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for bidirectional data communication over long cables that take on the characteristics of transmission lines. It is a voltage mode device that meets or exceeds the requirements of industry standards ANSI RS-485 and ISO 8482:1987(E). The component is designed for high-speed multipoint data transmission over long cables and operates with pulse durations as low as 30 ns. It has low supply current, 3-state outputs for party-line buses, and a common-mode voltage range of -7 V to 12 V. It also has thermal shutdown protection to prevent driver damage from bus contention and positive and negative output current limiting. The SN65LVDS125ADBTR is pin compatible with the SN75ALS180.
