9 Precautions for Infrared Receivers
There are many different types of infrared receivers, each with different pin definitions, but they generally have three pins (power, ground, and signal output). The appropriate receiver should be selected based on the modulation frequency of the transmitting end. When using infrared receivers, the following should be noted:
1. Size, pin location, and packaging: For commonly used products, attention should be paid to the differences in pin layout and manufacturing process. Generally, products with compression molding technology have stronger anti-interference capabilities, and some of these products also have corresponding iron shells.
2. Current: 0.5mA, 0.8mA, 1mA, 1.2mA, 2mA, 3mA.
3. Voltage: Infrared receivers have wide voltage and single voltage types, with single voltage typically being 5V or 3.5V.
4. Distance: 5m, 8m, 10m, 12m, 16m, 20m, 25m, 28m, 35m, and 70m. Generally, the shorter the distance, the lower the price.
5. Pin length and angle: 16mm, 21mm, 25.5mm, with angles of 30, 45, and 60 degrees. Generally, the receiving angle has little effect on the product, so most products now have a 45-degree receiving angle.
6. Receiving frequency: 38KHz, 36KHz, 40KHz, 32.7KHz, 56KHz, and 20KHZ. Typically, 38KHz is used for remote control, and 20KHZ is used for 3D glasses. Choosing the appropriate frequency is also important.
7. Operating temperature: -30°C to 85°C.
8. Soldering temperature and time: 260°C (240°C) ≤ 5sec. High soldering temperature and time can have serious consequences for the component.
9. Sensitivity: The same product may yield different actual data when measured on different devices or in different environments. Regarding sensitivity, attention should be paid to environmental interference, light interference, and different light intensities, all of which can affect sensitivity.
Infrared receivers should have a filter to remove white light. Infrared receivers can be affected by strong light directly hitting them, electromagnetic interference, flickering light sources, and strong infrared heat sources.
