Here are the key points that must be followed for the proper operation of a temperature fuse. A temperature fuse is an electronic component that can sense overheating in electronic products and appliances during abnormal operation, and cut off the circuit to prevent fires. It is commonly used in hair dryers, irons, rice cookers, stoves, transformers, motors, water dispensers, coffee makers and other appliances.

 

To ensure the proper operation of a temperature fuse, the following must be adhered to:

 

1. The rated current and voltage, melting temperature (Tf), operating temperature (Th), and maximum temperature (Tm) of the fuse must be used within the specified parameters.

2. When installing the fuse, care must be taken to ensure that stresses are not transferred to the fuse due to vibration or movement of other components.

3. The fuse must be installed in a location where the temperature will not rise above the maximum operating temperature after the fuse has melted.

4. The fuse cannot be used in machines with liquid or humidity levels above 95%.

5. The fuse must be installed in a location where it can only sense the heat source of the fuse. If this is not possible, a thermal barrier must be installed. For example, if the fuse is installed in a heater, it must not be directly connected to the heating element to avoid the heat line heating up the fuse.

6. Connecting multiple fuses in parallel or subjecting them to continuous overcurrent or overvoltage will damage the internal contacts of the fuse and affect its normal operation. Therefore, this must not be done.
