Electronic Component Model: A1240XL-1 is an IC chip designed for use with 0.062" (1.57 mm) printed circuit boards requiring an edgeboard type connector on 0.156" (3.96 mm) centers. It features a 0.156" C-C x 0.140" grid (3.96 mm x 3.56 mm) and bifurcated bellows contacts that provide 2 flexing contact surfaces to assure positive contact under adverse conditions such as vibration or PC board irregularities. The IC chip accepts PC board thickness of 0.054" to 0.071" (1.37 mm to 1.80 mm) and has selective gold plating. It also has polarization between contact positions in all sizes, allowing for polarizing without loss of contact position. The polarizing key is made of reinforced nylon, can be inserted by hand, and requires no adhesive. The protected entry, provided by the recessed leading edge of the contact, permits the card slot to straighten and align the board before electrical contact is made, preventing damage to the contact that might be caused by warped or out of tolerance boards.
