Description
The ST20196-B3B is a highly integrated ADSL chipset, designed for CPE applications. It consists of the optimised ADSL Analogue Front-End chip ST20184 and the digital chip ST20196, which includes a DMT/ATM modem and a dedicated ADSL Transceiver Controller. This chipset provides all the required functions to implement a complete Utopia rate adaptive DMT ADSL modem. It supports multiple ADSL standards, including ANSI T1.413 Issue2, ITU G.992.1 (G.dmt), ITU G.992.2 (G.Lite), ITU G.992.3 (ADSL2), ITU G.992.4 (G.Lite bis), and ITU G.992.5 (ADSL2+). It also has Cat II functionality, dual latency support, small footprint packages for high density board designs, and an embedded controller for powerful and flexible on-chip control of the modem operation. The ST20196-B3B chipset offers the highest performance with ADSL mode capable of over 12 Mbps in downstream and over 1 Mbps in upstream, and ADSL+ mode capable of over 20 Mbps in downstream and over 2 Mbps in upstream when using 64 tones (annex L).
