Description
The DS1672-3 is a real time clock that incorporates a 32-bit counter and power monitoring functions. It is designed to count seconds and can be used to derive time of day, week, month, and year using a software algorithm. The clock also includes a precision temperature-compensated reference and comparator circuit to monitor the status of VCC. When VCC is out of tolerance, the clock generates an internal power-fail signal and forces a reset to the active state. The reset signal remains active for 250ms when VCC returns to an in-tolerance condition, allowing the power supply and processor to stabilize.
