    The CY7C421-25JC is a first-in first-out (FIFO) memory in a 600-mil wide IC package. It has a capacity of 512 words by 9-bits wide, which means it can store up to 512 sets of data with each set containing 9 bits of information. The data is read in the same sequential order that it was written. It has Full and Empty flags to avoid overrun and underrun. Additionally, it has three pins that allow for unlimited expansion in width, depth, or both. The depth expansion technique steers control signals and data between devices in parallel to avoid propagation delays and maintain throughput.
