Description
The GL857 is a switch accessory or cap used for USB 2.0 hub solutions. It is fully compliant with Universal Serial Bus Specification Revision 2.0 and includes an 8-bit RISC processor to manipulate control and status registers while responding to requests from the USB host. Firmware controls general purpose I/O (GPIO) of the GL857 to access the external EEPROM. The customized PID and VID configured in the external EEPROM can then be responded to the host. Each downstream port of the GL857 is integrated with two-color (green/amber) status LEDs to indicate the normal and abnormal status.

- Supports individual and gang modes of power management and over-current detection for downstream ports
- Conforms to bus power requirements
- Automatic switching between self-powered and bus-powered modes
- PLL embedded with external 12 MHz crystal
- Operates on 3.3 Volts
