The MIC5156YMTR is a linear regulator controller in the category of electronic components. It is a single IC solution designed for high current low-dropout linear voltage regulation. The MIC5156/7/8 family of regulators feature a low dropout voltage, determined by the RDS(ON) of the connected MOSFET multiplied by the output current. The output current can reach the maximum capacity of the connected MOSFET, allowing for high-performance voltage regulation.

The controller also offers an optional current limit with a typical threshold of 35mV. The MIC5156YMTR is available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V and 5.0V, while the MIC5157 offers fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5.0V, and 12V. The MIC5156/8 allows programmable output voltages ranging from 1.3V to 36V using two resistors. The MIC5157/8 also feature an internal charge pump voltage tripler, and all versions of the controller are available in DIP and SOIC packages.
