Description
The MAX3442EASA+ is a fault-protected RS-485 and J1708 transceiver that belongs to the receivers and transceivers product category. It is designed to protect communication bus lines from signal faults with its ±60V protection. The device consists of one differential line driver with three-state output and one differential line receiver with three-state input. With a 1/4-unit load receiver input impedance, it enables up to 128 transceivers on a single bus. The MAX3442EASA+ operates at data rates of up to 10Mbps and a 5V supply. It has true fail-safe inputs that ensure a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open, shorted, or connected to an idle data line.
