Description
The A013 is an integrated circuit (IC) used in electronic devices to decode MPEG Layer III compressed audio streams. This IC is capable of decoding all Layer III features as specified in MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 ISO standards. It is also capable of decoding elementary streams compressed by using low sampling rates as specified by MPEG 2.5. This single chip MPEG2 Layer 3 decoder is designed to decode Layer III stereo, dual-channel and single-channel (mono) audio. It supports all the MPEG 1 & 2 sampling frequencies and the extension to MPEG 2.5. Some of the device's features include digital volume control, digital bass and treble control, serial bitstream input interface, ancillary data extraction via I2C interface and serial PCM output interface. The A013 is suitable for applications such as PC sound cards and multimedia players.
