The Marvell Alaska family of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) over copper transceivers, including the 88E1340S-BAM2-I model, are industry-leading solutions known for their low power consumption, small form factor, high performance, and high port density. These transceivers are optimized for the mobile computing market and support various Ethernet standards, such as 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T, and 10BASE-T. They can be used with different types of cables, including category 5 (CAT 5) twisted pair cable and CAT 3, 4, and 5 cable. The 88E1340S-BAM2-I model offers additional support for 1000BASE-X via an integrated 1.25 GHz Serializer/Deserializer (SERDES).
