Description
The VK05CFL is a monolithic device made by STMicroelectronics using their proprietary VIPower M3 Technology. It is housed in a standard SO-8 package and is designed for both low side and high side driver in half bridge CFL applications. By using two VK05CFL devices, one in HSD configuration and the other in LSD configuration, a complete H-bridge can be realized. The VK05CFL used in HSD configuration requires the diac pin to be connected to the source pin. It integrates diac functionality and a discharge circuit for an external diac capacitor. The nominal working frequency can be chosen without impact on the ignition frequency by using an external capacitor.
