The MX98741 (100BASE-TX Repeater Controller, XRC) is a highly versatile electronic component designed for use in IC chips. It has a 208-pin PQFP package and interfaces directly with offshell clock generation/recovery chips. With a total of eight ports, each of which can be configured as 100 BASE-TX or FX ports individually, this component offers flexibility in network setup. Additionally, three ports feature Media Independent Interfaces (MII) for easy connection of management and bridge devices. The MX98741 also supports expansion, allowing multiple XRCs to be linked together to form a repeater of high port counts. Visual monitoring of port activities and collisions is made possible through the provision of LEDs.
