Description
The MC14559BDW is a shifting register electronic component model that belongs to a series of MC14549B and MC14559B successive approximation registers. These 8-bit registers cater to the digital control and storage requirements essential for successive approximation analog-to-digital conversion systems. Both the models are identical, except for one control input. The Master Reset (MR) on the MC14549B is necessary in the cascaded mode when more than 8 bits are required. In contrast, the Feed-Forward (FF) of the MC14559B is used for register shortening when end-of-conversion (EOC) is mandatory after less than eight cycles. This electronic component model can be used in applications like serial and parallel output and analog-to-digital conversion.
