The UCN5841LW is an electronic component model in the category of IC Chips. It combines low-power CMOS logic with bipolar output power drivers, allowing it to be used in various peripheral power driver applications. This integrated circuit features an eight-bit CMOS shift register, CMOS control circuitry, CMOS data latches, and eight bipolar current-sinking Darlington output drivers. The output drivers, with 500 mA npn Darlington outputs, are equipped with transient-suppression diodes, making them suitable for use with relays, solenoids, and other inductive loads. The UCN5841A, UCN5841LW, A5841SLW, UCN5842A, UCN5842LW, and A5842SLW models are virtually identical, except for packaging and maximum driver output voltage ratings. All variations of the UCN5842 offer premium performance with a minimum output-breakdown voltage rating of 80 V (50 V sustaining). These drivers can be operated with a split supply where the negative supply is up to -20 V.
